Book Critique

The Book Project opened my eyes to a new presentation method which I am excited for.

Carly R's book "This Color" lingers in my mind because of its unique idea. The concept was to show a picture to a friend/family member and asked for a response on how the color in the picture made them feel. These quotes were placed on the page opposite of a the picture in question. Each photo was abstracted and did evoke a particular emotion. The book was an e-book made on blurb.

Bree's book was another that left a strong impression. This accordion book was covered with dainty floral print which juxtaposed the highly sexual and intimate pictures within. The black and white photos managed to be scandalous and charming at the same time. The asymmetrical placement of the pictures on each page differentiated it from the composition of other accordion books.

Addie's flip-book was another favorite of mine. I love the idea of using a flip-book to record the movement of people through a public place; in this case a bathroom. I liked the delicacy of the small size. This is an idea I think you should explore further.

Cant wait to make more!
